A Ministry Team is a group that plans and executes specific tasks that advance and support the purpose and ministry of the church. Ministry Teams differ from Ministry Programs and Core Committees in that they exist on an as needed basis. These Teams are intended to serve needs and execute on ministry efforts, but inevitably, the church’s needs change. That means that sometimes, new Ministry Teams will be needed in order to complete new tasks, and old Ministry Teams might dissolve themselves once their function is completed.
Liberty Baptist Church believes that most ministry within the church takes place outside the context of ministry teams, so we try to keep the number of active teams small so that we can free up members to keep doing ministry in their personal lives (discipleship, evangelism, and so on). Ministry Teams have a set term limit of three years. Unlike Core Committee members, a Ministry Team member can immediately re-up for another term if they so desire.
