Mark 3:7-19 | “The Authority of Jesus”
1.) Jesus’ authority is demonstrated through his miraculous healings (v. 7-10).
2.) Jesus’ authority is demonstrated over the demonic realm (v. 11-12).
3.) Jesus’ authority is demonstrated by choosing the Twelve (v. 13-19).
Discuss this question at the beginning or the end: What in the sermon did you find most helpful, convicting, or encouraging?
Do your prayers to God usually voice a desire for His gifts or for Him? Why?
Why must we not forget the One who blesses in the midst of receiving His blessings?
As usual, why does Jesus warn them in this passage (see v. 12) to keep his identity revealed?
For the sake of clarification, what was Jesus’ true identity and purpose? How do people, today, still confuse Jesus’ identity and purpose?
Why is the relative obscurity of the 12 disciples good news for us and good news for all of humanity?
How should the fact that God is the One who “makes” or “appoints” His church comfort and assure us in our efforts to share the gospel with the lost?
