Witness Weekend | A Student Event
What is Witness Weekend?
Witness Weekend is an event geared to have students be witnesses of the Word as it is taught and then be a witness to the Word by serving the church. There will be a time of worship through song and teaching. Then students will have the opportunity to serve our church members through a service project.
What time and when will the event be?
Witness Weekend will be on Saturday, November 17th and it will start at 1 p.m. (please eat lunch before coming) A cookout and bonfire will follow the service project.
Where will Witness Weekend be hosted?
Witness Weekend will be hosted at Liberty Baptist Church.
What should I wear to Witness Weekend?
Dress casually. Dress in warm clothes. (Flannel shirt, jeans, boots, work shoes, bring a coat since it might be cold) We will have gloves provided and yard tools.
What is the schedule for Witness Weekend?
Students should arrive at the church at 12:45 p.m. From 1pm until 1:45 pm. Bobby Sumner will be leading the students and volunteers through a few songs. Kie Jones will be teaching from Mark 10:42-45. From 2:00 until 5:00 students will participate in a service project. To end Witness Weekend we will have a cookout for the students along with bonfire and games.
What can our church members do in preparation for Witness Weekend?
Though this event is hosted by LBC Students, we encourage all members to join us during the service project. If you are a church member, we encourage you to come alongside these students and lead by example in serving together as the Body of Christ. Also, we want to extend this event to be open to students in Liberty and surrounding communities. If you know of a family who has children who are not plugged into a church then feel free to invite them. We are encouraging our own students to invite others, too.
If you would like to come to the service project part please feel free to contact Taylor Cain (479-886-1141) or Nicole Hood. Our goal as a student ministry is to connect our students with other generations in the church. Events like these allow for those connections to naturally form. Please pray for this event that it would be a time of encouragement, spiritual growth, and fun.
